Are you missing surround configurations or only hearing stereo despite selecting a surround configuration?
- Configure your speakers by going to your PC’s Sound Control Panel, selecting your Playback device and choosing Configure. Choose the output format and speaker layout matching your surround configuration and continue through to the end of the setup wizard
Are you hearing pops, clicks, and other audio glitches?
- In Options > Audio, scroll down to the Compatibility section and change Latency to Medium or High. Quit and relaunch the game.
Why are all the volume sliders stuck at 0?
- Try changing your default output device by going to the Sound Control Panel, right-click another Playback device and choose Set as Default Device.
Why don't I hear my custom equalization profile or sound processing from third-party audio software
- Windows' Spatial Sound bypasses most third-party audio processing software. If you would prefer to use your own virtualization and processing software, in Options > Audio, scroll down to the Compatibility section and change the Output Mode to Traditional.
Are music and cutscenes too loud, but gameplay is too quiet?
- Go to the Sound Control Panel, select your Playback device and choose Properties. Go to the Enhancements tab if available and check "Disable all enhancements" and hit OK. If that doesn't resolve the issue, in Options > Audio, scroll down to the Compatibility section and change the Output Mode to either Spatial or Traditional.
Is there missing dialogue or no sound whatsoever during cinematics?
- In Options > Audio, scroll down to the Compatibility section and change the Output Mode to Traditional.
Does gameplay audio become abnormally quiet when it goes behind the camera?
- In Options > Audio, confirm that your Output Channel configuration matches your physical speaker configuration in Windows' Sound Control Panel. If so, scroll down to the Compatibility section and change the Output Mode to Traditional.
How does the Dynamic Range setting affect volume levels?
- Dynamic Range, found under Options > Audio > Output, adjusts the volume difference between quiet and loud sounds. For example:
-
- Maximum maintains the natural volume difference between the quietest and loudest sounds, meaning the game will sound quieter on average
- Narrow reduces the volume difference between the two by making quietest sounds louder, meaning the game will sound louder overall
